The grand finale... Newmarket Kite Symphony Exhibition

Pop into Palace House to see the giant kites that were hand-made by Newmarket residents during the Open Days in the Museum Mews and The Guineas Shopping Centre. Local community groups led by Paula designed and decorated these kites inspired by the local landscape, history and collections at the heritage centre.

Newmarket Kite Symphony Exhibition celebrates an arts and sports community project brought to life by Market Place in collaboration with Palace House Newmarket: National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art and artist R.M.Sánchez-Camus (Marcelo) musican and kite specialist Zachary De Santos, and Newmarket artist Paula Wilson. They worked with local people designing, making and flying specialised kites which culminated in processing in Newmarket Town Carnival, accompanied by the fantastic Newmarket Academy Samba Band to Long Hill Newmarket for the beautiful Kite Symphony Display.
