Winners of the 2000 Guineas 1809 - 2009

For the past five years I have been researching and painting the racing colours that were worn by the winning jockey's in the 2000 Guineas race. It was a difficult task and has involved much checking of different source information, while at the same time welcoming the opinions of others to achieve a correct representation. It is presented within a modern artistic template resembling heraldic designs.

There are eight canvases holding twenty five years on each, that seemlessly butt up against one another as a work of art. However, individually ,I saw them being ideal for flags.

Ultimately, the visual interpretation of results has excitingly exposed different layers of historical information and highlighted changes in social history.
